Feng Sui with Plants

What is “Feng Shui,” and how can one use plants with it?

Feng Shui is popular in interior design, Asian philosophy, metaphysics, and for current hobbyists. It was first developed over 3,000 years ago in China. “Feng” means “wind” and “Shui” means “water,” and is pronounced “fung-shway.”

Feng Shui is a belief system based on energy and space that will result in good luck and good health to those around it. To those practicing Feng Shui, there is Good Feng Shui and Bad Feng Shui. Chi, or energy, comes from the land. There are five elements in Feng Shui: water, fire, earth, wood and metal. Feng Shui also uses the yin and the yang – opposites, which bring balance.

Interior decorators and those who practice Feng Shui would use one, or both, of two tools:

. lo-pan, or compass, which has rings around a magnetic needle
. Ba-Gua, which is an octagonal grid that has the symbols of the I Ching.

These tools would help the decorators gauge the Good Feng Shui versus the Bad Feng Shui energies inside the home or office and decide how best to proceed further.

In some cases, Good Feng Shui needs a new color (repainting, color scheme, flooring, etc.) to improve the five elements. Plants can help improve the Chi, or energy, as well. Artificial plants fall in the same realm. Remember that earth and wood are two of the five essential elements in Feng Shui.

Zen gardens are meditative spaces that have been used by Buddhist monks and intellectuals in the past to reconnect to the earth. Today, Zen gardens have a historical and cultural significance for us all worldwide in order to create Good Feng Shui.

If interested in experimenting in Feng Shui with plants, our designers are ready to help you create a new and inviting interior or exterior environment. We offer hundreds of artificial flowers, plants and trees to help you and your company create Good Feng Shui in a variety of colors, shapes and textures.

Consider the green of our artificial bamboo, which can also replicate a quiet Zen garden.

Or, how about one of our silk trees, placed just so in a certain corner of the room to improve the room’s Chi?

We feature artificial orchids,FloralArt®, bonsai in various sizes, or birds of paradise – if you need certain colors or more of the five elements.
