Green Your Interiors with Renewable Bamboo
Add artificial Bamboo to your "green" palette of resources. The domestically grown Bamboo that Plantworks can provide is a totally renewable product. This ancient plant fits perfectly into today’s Green Building.
Bamboo can amazingly grow up to 2 feet in one day reaching heights over 100 feet over their life span of roughly five to seven years. At maximum growth, Bamboo can grow 1 meter in an hour! Bamboo naturally renews itself three times faster than any other wood product.
These characteristics make Bamboo plants an excellent building material for a wide variety of applications, including artificial plants. Mature Bamboo has the tensile strength of steel. Due to its fast growth rate, Bamboo is one of the only renewable sources of hardwood on earth.
Plantworks manufactures outstanding artificial Bamboo. Our tree builders only use the canes in the natural form and hand apply the finest commercial-grade permanent foliage. These canes are naturally "sun dried" in the hot desert in Nevada using no carbon fuels. This process allows the native beauty of the Bamboo cane to remain and the overall strength and its straightness to be maintained.
Bamboo with or without foliage can be specified in calibers of 1" to 6" and lengths up to 25′. Plantworks Las Vegas has set the design standards using permanent Bamboo in interior spaces. Over the years, we have developed the best practices to process Bamboo grown in the United States and cure it, ready to use, with environmentally friendly procedures.
Recent projects showcased on our website include Cooper Hospital in Camden, N.J., where a huge atrium application features alternatives to live plants; and Red Rock Casino Resort’s Spa in Las Vegas, a detailed space definition. Foliated Bamboo can replicate live Bamboo in groves of planters or single pot configurations.
Bamboo can also be used as screening material in fixed planters without foliage. Calibers of 3" to 6" are best for this use and can be cut to any length. Bamboo can be painted and used as art forms, or as we call it, "PlantArt."
More and more, Bamboo as an architectural form crosses all lines of design use. From hip to high-tech, clean commercial to intimate spa and also nightclub applications, the possibilities are endless. Bamboo is back big-time, and it’s "green" all the way.
