The Only Proven Artificial Foliage for Exterior Use

Plantworks has been using UV Rated Polyblend material for over 20 years. The use of this material in artificial landscaping began when major projects, like the Hofbrauhaus Las Vegas, had design requirements that live plants could not achieve. Natural architectural elements are replicated by Plantworks with an intensive application of UV Rated Polyblend, which creates a lasting landscape.

Currently, retailers have started featuring plastic plants that are relatively inexpensive and these products have caused consumer confusion. They are often misrepresented as “exterior grade” or featuring “UV inhibitors.” To be clear, they are not manufactured with UV Rated Polyblend. They are made from low-density molded plastic with high air content and neither contain commercial grade coloring nor a UV rating.

Products made with these plastics are intended for interior use only. Exposure to direct sunlight, varying temperatures and weather will cause the product to lose its color and literally decompose. The high air content escapes from the product, dissolving it and your investment.

The newly remodeled entrance at the Tropicana Las Vegas was an extensive project where The Plantworks used the versatile Polyblend material to make it come alive with realistic, artificial boxwood foliage. The material covered over 3,000 square feet of specially engineered steel frames.   

New plants like the 12′ Kentia palms under planted with beautiful bougainvillea could be just the right touch for your Lobby. These permanent artificial palms were custom built for the remodeling of the world famous Tropicana on the Vegas Strip. Over 50 units accent all public areas including lobbies, main walk ways and the casino floor. The use of realistic palms provided a great option for completing the renovation and providing a maintenance free alternative.

At Sam’s Town Hotel and Casino Buffet  open main dinning area there were stainless steel walls that needed an exciting new look. A waterfall design with the most realistic and colorful orchids cascading did the job. Plantworks provides unique design solutions for your existing facilities.

These frames were manufactured at our 20,000 square foot design center and then reassembled onsite to form an espalier wall. A unique feature of this project was the media screens and speakers inside various sections that provided the hotel with additional advertising space.

The 16th floor of the M Resort, features two open air terraces completely exposed to the desert sun, wind and extreme temperature changes. The client wanted two matching artificial hedges on both ends of the roof.

This year, The Plantworks participated in the 2011 Hospitality Design Expo in Las Vegas, Nevada. Our booth showcased our completed projects over the past five years and many of these can be found right in Las Vegas, such as The Cosmopolitan’s porte cochere and pool decks and the Tropicana’s espalier wall.
