Tropicana – Polyblend UV Rated Boxwood
For over 20 years, Plantworks has designed with and developed the use of UV Rated Polyblend materials as artificial foliage components in commercial exterior applications.
Plantworks’ design department has taken individual foliage and created major architectural elements with it.
The most recent was just completed in March 2011, a media espalier wall at the main entrance of the iconic Tropicana Las Vegas.
The wall was nearly 4,000 linear feet of artificial, UV Rated Polyblend boxwood. The entire project, which consisted of 27 individual units, was manufactured at our design center over a period of six months.
Once completed, each unit was disassembled and reassembled onsite, in a serpentine like fashion, in two major sections. Some units held media screens and speakers for advertisements and promotions by the Tropicana Las Vegas, while others were completely covered in artificial boxwood.
The Tropicana Las Vegas project used special all weather frames that were fabricated in steel and hand covered with Polyblend foliage.
This material has remained colorfast for over 10 years in extreme weather like wind, variable temperatures and desert sunlight.
Plantworks warranties our Polyblend foliage to be colorfast for five years on all commercial projects.
